Parke Davis No 1 Nebulizer

This atomizer was patented in 1900, and was known as a “No. 1 Nebulizer”. It is believed that this one was supplied by Parke Davis & Co. The atomization chamber is a blue bulb. The nickel plated metal tube was a small spring loaded pump that would push air through the atomizer, essentially an alternative to a rubber squeeze bulb. There are, in fact, a number of patents from the early 1900s for inhalers that use light bulbs as a source of heat. In this case the bulb is simply a chamber, and is of heavier duty glass than a regular light bulb.
