This device from Colorado was sold just after the end of WW1 when Spanish influenza was killing millions worldwide. The patented Steven’s pocket vaporizer was used to deliver medicated vapour (inhalatum) either through the nose or mouth. Claims included; hay fever, asthma, nasal catarrh, whooping cough and influenza.  It contained ether but no opiate, cocaine or narcolytic.
