This advertisement from the New York Medical Journal (1895) shows the Ideal Pulmonary Inspirator, an apparatus for delivering antiseptic remedies. It was promoted to doctors, and was supplied with a list of formulae for antiseptic remedies. The apparatus measured 16 inches tall and was supplied by Underwood and Co of New York. A list of eminent physicians using the apparatus was provided to inspire confidence.
