This full-page 1907 advertisement , for Vapo-haler, claims to be the safe, sure way to cure catarrh, through the application of an antiseptic fluid ointment. It warns of the use of alcohol sprays that simply leave the mucous membranes ‘drunk’. The Vapo-haler company, from Ohio, did not claim to treat other diseases, (as did many others of that era) they focused their advertising on catarrh.
